Look Up at the Sky!

Genesis 15:1-6

The word of the Lord came to Abram who beat the joint force of the 4 kings. Let us confirm what we can learn from today's part.

Firstly, God commands us not to be afraid. Possibly Abram might have been afraid of the counterattack from the kings. But God said that He himself was the shield so that Abram must not be afraid.

Secondly, God tells us that humans are powerless and He is great. Humans have limits so that we cannot count the numbers of the stars correctly. However, God can do it and He is the great being that created the stars with His word.

Thirdly, God wants us to accept His word as it is. Abram believed God's word without doubting, and accepted it as it was. We also need such faith.

The Lord told him to go outside, look up at the sky and count the stars. Let us also get out of our own small shell and walk our lives while trusting the great Lord and his promise!

<The Verse of the Bible>
He took him outside and said, "Look up at the sky and count the stars — if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
