Two children were given to Adam and Eve. Cain and Abel came to the LORD with their offerings to Him. Though Abel's offering was accepted, Cain's one was not looked on with favor. This became the cause for Cain to kill Abel. Let us learn three things:
Firstly, the LORD pays attention to the mind of those who offer. Their mind is important before God.
Secondly, the LORD sees one's response toward the blessing of others. We can say that Cain was jealous for the blessing of Abel. Jealousy is born out of the sin of pride and could develop to the intention to kill someone.
Thirdly, the LORD seeks the mind which responds to the guidance to repent. In spite that Cain committed sin, he was defiant. Nevertheless, God was merciful to him and tried to guide him to repent. He should have repented immediately but didn't do it.
If we keep our sins as they are, they will develop something terrible. Let us repent when we are convinced not to commit Cain's sins!
