Before arrested, Jesus prayed to God the Father in Gethsemane. Let us learn 3 things from this passage.
First is that the Lord was tempted and suffered. Jesus, who was filled with wisdom and strength, was there in anguish. And after this, he was crucified and died. The Lord went through such sufferings so that he can understand our sufferings as well. We should also suffer for the Lord.
Second is that the Lord poured out his soul to God the Father and prayed. He offered up his petitions just as he was, without putting on airs.
Third is that the Lord sought to please God the Father, and followed Him. He wanted to do the will of God the Father rather than his own.
Whose petitions do our prayers ask for? The Lord was victorious at the prayer in Gethsemane, and after this, he proceeded straight to the cross. The type of prayer made in Gethsemane is necessary also for our steps.

<The Verse of the Bible>
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
