The blessing to send someone off

Acts 13:2-3
February 11th 2018, 2nd Holy Day of the month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, pastor

We can see that Barnabas and Saul were sent off by the church so that they would go to preach the gospel. Let us learn two things from here.

Firstly, each one of us is also sent off from the church. The places are: work place or school, local community and family. We need to remember that not only missionaries, pastors or evangelists work for the missions, but also each one of us has the assigned mission field and is sent off from the church.

Secondly, churches are given the blessing to send someone off. Barnabas and Saul were sent off, and that was why the gospel was getting spread. As it is written, "How can they preach unless they are sent?" Churches need to pray and ask earnestly so that they will be able to send off missionaries.

Today is the Missions Conference. Many souls in the world are going to perish. That is why, let us keep praying and asking so that we will be able to send ourselves and missionaries off from Yokohama Church!

<The Verse of the Bible>
While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
